The Kiwanis Club of Deerfield Beach is passionate about making our community and the world a better place for children so they can thrive. We do so through unique and innovative service projects and fundraising initiatives.
Each year, we award scholarships to graduating seniors who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- A resident of the City of Deerfield Beach
- A student at a high school (public, charter, or private) in Deerfield Beach
- A member of a Key Club sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Deerfield Beach
Our scholarships include named awards for memorable Kiwanians and loved ones in our Kiwanis family, including
- Edward P. Dietrich, Sr. Community Service Scholarship — Recognizes a Key Club member who has exemplified the Key Club values of service to school & community, character building, leadership, caring and inclusiveness. Applicant must be a verified member of Key Club for a minimum of one year and have demonstrated outstanding community service.
- David Eller Community Service Scholarship — Recognizes a Key Club member who has demonstrated a commitment toward community service. Applicant must be a verified member of Key Club for a minimum of one year and have demonstrated outstanding community service.
- Amie Kay Tanner Memorial Scholarship — Recognizes a student with a love of history and community service. Preference will be given to students who are majoring in history, education, or one of the social sciences.
- Linda Rozen Memorial Scholarship — Awarded by current Kiwanian Irwin Rozen in memory of his late wife. Applicant must be a verified member of Key Club for a minimum of one year and have demonstrated outstanding community service.
- Peggy Fass Memorial Scholarship — Awarded by current Kiwanian and past club president Robert Fass in memory of his late wife. Applicant must be a verified member of Key Club for a minimum of one year. Preference will be given to students majoring in education.
- Bob & Donna Parton Trade Scholarship — Awarded by current Kiwanians and past Florida Kiwanis governors Bob & Donna Parton. Applicant must be accepted to and planning to attend a trade school and explain in their application video why they have chosen to continue their education at a trade school versus a two- or four-year college.
- Tim & Deb Sullivan SEED Scholarship — Awarded by past club presidents Tim & Deb Sullivan. Applicant must be a past or current participant in our SEED Program with BSO and explain how the SEED Program helped to prepare them for the next chapter of their educational/employment journey.
- Presidents' Scholarship — Awarded by the Kiwanis Club of Deerfield Beach to recognize outstanding student leadership. Applicant must demonstrate a record of leadership in clubs and/or organizations (not necessarily limited to those affiliated with the applicant's school).
The Scholarship Committee may choose to award additional scholarships at their discretion and based on available funding. Applicants are only eligible to receive one scholarship from the Kiwanis Club of Deerfield Beach.
